Labrador Retrievers have become the #1 breed
in the United States. With this growing popularity, a lot
of people claim to be Lab breeders. As a retired school teacher,
my advice is DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Knowledge is power. Educate yourself on all
aspects of the Labrador to ensure you will have a high quality
companion, not just a dog.
Here are a few linked sites that can help.
1. The
Origin of the Labrador.
2. The
AKC's Labrador Standard.
3. Comparison
of Responsible versus Backyard Breeders.
4. Common
Hereditary Diseases.
5. What is Limited Registration?
Limited registration helps breeders protect their breeding
programs. We have worked diligently for years building our
program so in order to preserve it and end irresponsible breeding,
we support AKC Limited Registration.
When purchasing a puppy with Limited Registration,
your puppy WILL be A.K.C. registered and CAN participate in
events such as Agility, Hunt Tests, Obedience, Tracking, Field
Trials, Herding, Lure Coursing, Etc. Conformation in breed
competition is the only event the dog is ineligible for. Also,
any offspring produced by your pet WILL NOT be registered
due to the Limited Status. We do support spaying/neutering
your puppy in order to stop pet overpopulation.
